The Cotton Country Cutting Club has hosted 14 Goondiwindi Futurities. The Goondiwindi Futurity is one of the four major cutting futurities held in Australia each year and as our survey in 2006 revealed is the favorite futurity for many of those who attend.
The Club also runs a smaller weekend show every Mothers Day weekend; as well as practice days for club members and for locals who might like to get involved in the sport.
In 2006 the Cotton Country Cutting Club received the Australia Day Community Event of the Year award from the Goondiwindi and Waggamba councils. The Futurity event is recognized in the community as an important event as it brings visitors from across the country and boosts the local economy.
The club is active in helping to maintain the facilities at the Goondiwindi Showgrounds. In 2005, the new outdoor arena was opened which was funded by businesses (both local and national) that purchased the panels which make up the perimeter of the arena. These panels display signage for those businesses. The club is also providing assistance and support in planning for the proposed showgrounds upgrade and members are happy to see two new stables blocks go up recently.
